Paul Allen Smith

Paul Allen Smith, 76, was born June 30, 1948, in Roswell, New Mexico, the son of John Dean Smith and Frances Anna (Patterson) Smith. He passed from this life at his home in Perry, Oklahoma on April 3, 2025.

He grew up in Roswell, NM, and graduated from Roswell High School. He continued his education at New Mexico State University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in education. He then was employed as a schoolteacher in public education. He also served in the United States Army.

He was married to Ruth Elaine Isett on January 24, 2003, in Roswell, NM. He enjoyed bike riding, boating and the outdoors.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands: Robin Edwards (Darrell), Edmond, Oklahoma, and Renee’ Moore (Bryan), Fishers, Indiana; and grandchildren: Conner Moore, Sydney Haller (Joshua), Isaiah Moore, Chelsea Edwards, Benjamin Edwards (Zipporah) and Dakota Eason; and great grandchildren: Angelica Conway and Benjamin Edwards, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service has been scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, with arrangements entrusted to Dighton-Marler Funeral Home, Perry. Condolences may be sent to the family via an online guestbook at www.dightonmarler.com.
