Pauline Jean Mahan, 78 of Stillwater, OK passed away September 2, 2009 at home surrounded by her family and friends. Viewing is to be held on Thursday from 3:00 until 8:00 pm at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, 5106 N. Washington. Services celebrating her life will be held at the same location on Friday, September 4, 2009 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater.
Pauline was born May 27, 1931, in Davenport, OK. She was the ninth of ten children of the late John Franklin and Alma Roberts. On May 27, 1949 she graduated from Stroud High School, celebrated her 18th birthday and married Martin Daniel Mahan. The couple recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary and high school reunion. Prior to retiring in Oklahoma, Pauline and Martin lived in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. In addition to being a homemaker, Pauline worked as a teachers aide for students with special needs, was a secretary for Sun Oil, and a dental assistant.
She is survived by her husband Martin D. Mahan, her daughter and son-in-law Charlcie and Colin Cumming, her sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Darlene Mahan and John and Becky Mahan, her brother, Charles Roberts, her sisters, Mary Arbaugh and Marie Burkhardt, her grandchildren, Jeremy, Mandy and Matthew Cumming, Jamison Mahan, Jennifer Maraga, Danielle Miller, Kelen and Korinna Mahan and her great grandchildren, Kelsey and Hailey Miller, Chloe Rose and Aaron Cumming and Alexander Mahan.
She is preceded in death by her parents John Franklin and Alma Roberts, three brothers Lee, George and Ervin Roberts and three sisters, Margie Rains, Rose Rains and Eva Jo Roberts.
The family would like to extend its gratitude to the staff at Judith Karman Hospice for the care and support they provided during the final weeks of her life.
