Phyllis Marquita Sanders

Phyllis Marquita Sanders was born June 29, 1934 in Cleveland, Oklahoma to Tom and Dorthea May (Cox) Owsley. She grew up in the Ponca City area. As an adult she spent most of her life as a homemaker, which she loved dearly. Phyllis also worked as a florist, operated a dog kennel and worked in the business admin department at OSU. Phyllis loved to paint, play golf and play card games, but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

Phyllis passed away Friday, October 14, 2022 at the age of 88 in Oklahoma City surrounded by her family.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022 from noon until 8PM at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater Ok. A celebration of Phyllis’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 10AM in the Chapel at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home with Tom LeGrand officiating. Pallbearers will be Wesston LeGrand, Montana LeGrand, Jesse LeGrand, and Ryan LeGrand. Honorary pallbearer will be the late Wylee Craig. Interment will follow at 2PM at Resthaven-Sunset Memorial Park in Ponca City.

Survivors include her two daughters, Linda Rieman and husband Tom of Morrison, OK., Rebecca Dunn and husband Craig of Milton, KS; one honorary daughter, Kathy LeGrand; three sons, Buck LeGrand and wife Kathy of Stillwater, OK., Samuel LeGrand of Bartlesville, OK., and Justin McCall and wife LaDonna of Bartlesville, OK; sister, Patricia Duke of Oilton, OK; brother, Jerry Owsley of Port Orange, FL; fifteen grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two great-grandsons, Wylee Craig and Ryder McWilliams; and one brother, Tommy Owsley.
