Rachael Mamie Driskel

Rachael Mamie Driskel, 91, of Stillwater went to her new home in Heaven on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at home where she was surrounded by her loving family. Graveside services are to be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, April 6, 2009 at Lawson Cemetery in Yale with Dr. Norman Richmond officiating. Services are under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater.
Mrs. Driskel was born on May 9, 1917 in Ingalls, OK to Ulysses Sidney and Emily (Rosiere) Reddout. She grew up and attended schools in Ingalls until the eighth grade. She completed her ninth grade year in Ripley with honors. She never missed a day of school. Rachael married Claude Driskel on August 30, 1933 in Springfield, MO. She was a member of Diamond Valley Community Church for many years. She loved the Lord. Her hobbies included: quilting, gardening, and canning food. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claude; one son, Darold; two sisters; and one brother.
She is survived by: three sons, Max Driskel and wife, Betty of Stillwater, OK, Harold Driskel and wife, Barbara of Wellston, OK, Bill Driskel and wife, Lynn of Rockport, TX; four daughters, Claudette Burr and husband, David of Hixson, TN, Carolyn Loucks and husband, Byron of Stillwater, OK, Cathy Sumpter and husband, Robert of Stillwater, OK, and Cheryl Jeffrey and husband, Jay of Glencoe, OK; 23 grandchildren; numerous great, great great, and great great great grandchildren; and several other family members and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday from 9am to 8 pm and Sunday from 1 pm to 6 pm. Family will receive friends Sunday from 2 pm to 4 pm. Rachael's grandsons will serve as casket bearers.
