Ralph D. “Taco” Reyes, 69, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2019 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 9AM to 8PM and Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 9AM to 8PM both at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home. Family will greet guests from 6PM to 8PM Thursday evening. A Celebration of Ralph’s life will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019 at 10AM at Life Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater. Pallbearers will be Dan Reyes, Larry Reyes, Carlos Reyes, Levi Hoffman, Austin Reyes, and Alex Ashwill.
Ralph was born May 11, 1950 in Hershey, Nebraska to Frank and Anita (Barron) Reyes. He spent most of his younger years in Hershey where he attended school. On November 22, 1969 Ralph married Janie Espinoza in Southerland, Nebraska. In March 1970 he was drafted into the United States Army and served until 1972. After discharging from active duty, he joined the Army Reserve as a MP in Omaha, NE. After moving to Oklahoma he transferred to the Oklahoma Army National Guard as a Field Maintenance Supervisor until he retired in May 2010 as Master SGT. While in the Oklahoma Army National Guard he also began employment part time at Auto Zone, which he worked at both until his retirement with the Oklahoma Army National Guard. He then continued on with Auto Zone full time until he retired in July 2019 after 22 years.
He enjoyed working on cars, fishing, hunting, gardening, and collecting limited edition cars. He enjoyed watching John Wayne, Clint Eastwood and War movies. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Janie of the home; son, Dan Reyes and wife Messina of Broken Arrow, OK.; daughter, Angelique Reyes of Stillwater, OK.; eight grandchildren, Levi Hoffman, Alex Ashwill, Khristianna McQuiggan, Austin Reyes, Mariya McQuiggan, Aubri Reyes, Makayla Reyes, and Chriztian Reyes; siblings, Rose Peckham of Plattsmouth, NE, Mona Michael of Plainview, NE, Jessica Johnson of Austin, TX, Larry Reyes of Las Vegas, NV, Carlos Reyes of Offenbach, Germany, Marilyn Mullin of North Platte, NE, Frank Reyes of Apple Valle, CA, Joe Reyes of Hershey, NE, and Hope Navarro of San Antonio, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carmen Vieyra; two brothers, Manuel Reyes and Moses Reyes.
