Rev. Daniel James Sturgeon

Brother Daniel Sturgeon, 97, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 17, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Dighton Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.

He was born on July 17, 1925, in London, Ontario, Canada, the son of George Sturgeon and Gertrude (Ede) Sturgeon. Daniel and Mary Lou were united in marriage in 1946 in Denver Colorado and were happily married 66 years.

Brother Sturgeon received the Holy Ghost in 1936, at eleven years of age at the campground near Shepherdsville, Kentucky. He was immediately called to the ministry. He came to Stillwater in 1987 pastoring Gospel Chapel in Stillwater for more than 30 years.

Brother Sturgeon is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Lou, and his five siblings.

He is survived by his church family and numerous friends.
