Rhonda was born December 21, 1959, in Clinton, Oklahoma, the youngest of 3 daughters of Ivan and Juanita (Mogan) Harrall. She grew up in Weatherford, Ok and attended Weatherford High School, where she would meet her husband, David Cassel. They would marry in Weatherford on June 6, 1980.
Rhonda went on to attain her beautician license, move to Stillwater, and dress hair for a number of years, as she had 2 sons, Dustin and Darren. Rhonda was a fierce family supporter; she encouraged and followed her sons across numerous states playing a number of sports. She ultimately wrapped up dressing hair as her youngest son, Daniel, was born. From that day on, she was of the home and her number one priority was her boys. Rhonda was at every baseball game, every football game and even soccer games. If her sons were playing or even sitting, she was there to cheer and support the team. For Rhonda, family was life. She poured her heart and her life into her husband and 3 sons. In every activity her family was involved, whether sports, church, school, you name it, Rhonda was in the middle of it. No matter if it was helping prepare concessions, cooking food, fixing uniforms, driving countless teenage boys around the state and teaching home group with her husband David; if something needed to be done, Rhonda was always there to lend a hand. Everyone around saw her huge heart and passion for her family.
As Rhonda's family grew, she refocused her attention on her grandchildren; all 9 of them! She got renamed Grammy and cherished every moment of every day she was a grandma. Rhonda never met a child that she would not treat as her own; she was an honorary Grammy to countless young ones, from neighbors to friends to church, she would always find a little one to show them some love. Her own grandkids were the apple of her eye, and she had a phone, an office, and a house, full of pictures to show off to anyone that would stop and talk for a moment. No matter what was going on in life, when grandkids were around, Rhonda always had time to color or play trucks or read a book. When the grandkids came over to the house, every ounce of love she had was poured out over each child there.
Rhonda loved her animals. From a young age, Rhonda grew up around the farm in Weatherford, and had a knack, a love for any animal she could find. She had a love for horses and went to many rodeos and won numerous awards for her efforts. Later in life she turned to dogs; snow white Labradors to be specific. She and David would end up breeding and raising countless puppies and rehoming them across the nation. She met numerous, amazing families that would become her extended family. She would recount stories of her grand adventures with her labs and tell about the many people she would meet along the way. Rhonda truly loved her labs, it was a lifelong passion she was able to share with so many people; even her own grandkids got a touch of her love for animals, as several of them share that same love today.
Rhonda's love for her husband, for her sons, for her grandchildren, for her lab families, and for so many people she came in contact with on a daily basis, was truly an amazing gift to see. She had such a huge heart that touched so many people.
Rhonda is highly treasured, greatly missed and never forgotten. With a heavy heart, great love, and vast expectations, we are privileged to honor Rhonda Cassel as she has made her permanent residence in Heaven at the right hand of the Father.
She is survived by her husband David Cassel, Her 3 sons, Daniel (Hailey) Cassel, Darren (Chasity) Cassel, and Dustin (Daniela) Cassel; 10 grandkids, Paxton, Everett, Zoe, Dyson, Dax, Deacon, Baby #4, Milly, Lucia, Olive; numerous cousins, several aunts and uncles, and countless friends.
