Richard Lee Terrel, 67, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022, from 9am to 8pm with family greeting guests from 6-8pm. Graveside service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 1:00pm at Grace Hill Cemetery with Pastor Brett Nation officiating. Dighton Marler Funeral Home of Perry is entrusted with arrangements.
Richard was born on September 5, 1954, in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Carolyn Terrel Mesacar and J.W. Terrel. He grew up in Ponca City, Ok. He moved to Perry in his 20’s and started Richard’s Roofing which he ran for 36 years. He married his wife Debbie Guffey in 1983. They shared 3 kids together, Ed, Stephanie, and Dana. Richard enjoyed being outdoors and loved going on weekend fishing trips with his son and loved deer hunting with his son and grandsons. When he was younger, he won championships in coon hunting. He liked to sit in his chair and watch westerns or the news.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, sister, CeAnn Walton and granddaughter Kacie.
Richard is survived by his wife Debbie, his children, Ed Terrel of Perry, Stephanie Durand of Virginia and Dana Wilson of Perry, his brother Bill Terrel of Texas. His eleven grandchildren, Kayla, Kristin, Kyler, Kavin, Hunter, Lance, Kambri, Ellie, William, David and Scout and two great grandchildren Travis and Maycie as well as several nieces and nephews a few which lived with them over the years.
