Richard Mangold

Richard Lee Mangold, 89, passed from this life at his home in Perkins, Oklahoma on December 1, 2016. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at The First Baptist Church in Perkins. Interment will be at Perkins Cemetery. Palmer Marler Funeral Home has been entrusted with final arrangements.
Richard was born on September 19, 1927 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Ernest and Laura (Livezey) Mangold. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1946. After high school he joined the United States Army. He married Ruby Nichols on December 9, 1948. Richard and Ruby moved their family to Perkins in 1963. Richard retired from OG&E in 1987 after 30 years of employment.
Richard was an amazing wood worker and spent a lot of time in his shop. He also loved to play golf and dominoes. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Lions Club, and Masonic Lodge. One of his favorite things to do was spend time with his family and friends.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Eldon Wayne Mangold and Frankie Mangold.
Richard is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruby; son, Danny Lee Mangold and his wife Frances; daughter, Jana Kay Mangold Nelson; daughter, Roseanne Marie Mangold; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Danny Mangold, Brett Moore, Mark Allen, Eric Kinzie, Erik Wolff and Ed Wright. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Lafollett, Wayne Niccum, Dale Flewellen, Billy Deshazo, Gerald Wright and Gerald Cullers.
