Richard W. Randall

June 3, 1928 — May 29, 2023

Richard W. Randall, long-time Perry resident, loving husband, dad, grandpa and uncle, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023 at Stillwater Medical Center, Stillwater at the age of 94.

He was born June 3, 1928 in Blackwell, Oklahoma to Olin W. and Blanche (Bottenfield) Randall. He attended Blackwell Schools through the 11th grade. The family moved to Perry his senior year where he graduated with the class of 1946. He continued his education at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa where he earned a business degree.

In 1949, he and his brother, Max, started Noble County Tractor and began selling Ford tractors from the building at 629 Elm St. in Perry. He started selling Mercury cars in 1955.

On December 11, 1963, he married Elaine Worthington with his children Terri, Steve, and Bruce by his side.

In the late '60s Richard served on the National Ford Tractor Dealer Council and earned National Ford Tractor Dealer of the Year where he had the privilege of meeting Henry Ford II who was President of Ford Motor Co. In the early ‘70s Richard bought out his brother Max to become the sole owner of Noble County Tractor. In 1983 he took over the Ford Motor Co. franchise but continued to operate Noble County Tractor. In 2023 after owning his business for 73 years, being 94 years old, and chain supply issues, Richard made the decision to close Noble County Tractor. He took pride in customer service- especially having sold cars to 4 generations of one family over the years. Richard was known to accept all sorts of down payments for vehicles and tractors such as a mule, horse, sheep, hay, motorcycle, boat, RV and silver bars. On some occasions he would flip a coin to split the difference in price if he and the customer couldn’t come to an agreement.

Richard was a great family man and treasured family gatherings at the 320- eating, fishing, swimming, riding ATVs and horseback riding with everyone. When not working, Richard loved to ride horses and enjoyed taking rides with his children, grandchildren, and even great grandchildren.

He looked forward to his 7 Canyons in 7 Days trail rides for several years. When his children were grown and married he took them on family trips to Dallas for Dallas Cowboy football games, Kansas City for a KC Chiefs game, Pasadena, CA for the Rose Bowl Parade and to watch the OSU Cowboys play Pepperdine in basketball and to Branson, MO. Throughout their many years of marriage Richard and Elaine were able to take several cruises and attend several Ford dealer conferences in places like London, Hawaii, Florida and California.

Survivors include his daughter, Terri Brown and her husband Don, Cleveland, Oklahoma; sons: Stephen Randall and his wife Lori, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Bruce Randall and his wife Robbin, Destin, Florida, Wally Randall and his wife Linda Westerman, Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Aaron Randall and his wife Christine, Edmond, Oklahoma.

Also survived by his grandchildren, Darrah Frazier, Stephenie Brewer and husband Jeremy, Heather Hatfield and husband David, Kylee Randall, Jacob Randall and wife Logann, Chad Randall and wife Whitney, Trevor Randall and wife Amber, Samantha Morrison and husband Ryan, Dustin Randall and wife Jordan, Andrew Randall, Caitlin Randall, and Tanner Randall; 20 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other extended family...

He is preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; his parents; grandson, Daniel Jason Brown; granddaughter, Lori Beth Brown; two brothers and sister-in-law: Max and Anna Lou Randall, and Neil Randall. Richard said it best, "I'm 94 and I lived a good life".

The family would like to thank Richard’s caregivers for their care, love, and support.

Memorial contributions may be made to Noble County FFA and 4-H clubs in honor of Richard who loved supporting the young people of Noble County.

Funeral services were held on June2, 2023 at the First United Methodist Church in Perry where he and Elaine were members. Services were conducted by Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Perry.
