Robert Captain Hook Shackelford

Robert P. Shackelford, Stillwater, OK, past away on November 7th, 2006. He was born on July 21st, 1931 in Pestoum, IL. to Joseph Boone Shackelford and Catherine (Downs) Shackelford.
In 1974, he married LaVeta Stephens in Reno, NV. He served in the Army in 1952. He was a commander of the Karl Ross Post American Legion and the 40/8 in Stockton, California. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He enjoyed fishing, boat riding, bowling, wood working and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, 3 brothers and both parents. He is survived by his wife LaVeta Shackelford; 2 sons, John Shackelford and wife Lijla and Kenneth Goforth; 6 daughters, Robin Robinson, Vickie Goforth, Lynn Bradley and husband Gary, Kathy Stevens and husband Dan, Debbie Coburn, Janet Jarvis and husband Rick; 17 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 1 God daughter, Andrea Ullenbruch of New Baltimore, Michigan; 1 sister, Dorothy Whittington of Geneseo, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday November 10th, 2006 at the Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at the Perkins Cemetery. The family has entrusted Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home with the arrangements.
