Robert George Rohwer

Robert George Rohwer, Sr. passed away peacefully at home December 1, 2012 after a long struggle with congestive heart failure. Robert was born in Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska November 20, 1920. He attended the University of Nebraska, graduating with a degree in chemistry. Robert worked with grain Processing Corporation in Muscatine, Iowa and developed corn starch products essential to glossy print paper and paper diapers. Robert retired as Vice President of Sales for the company. Robert was an avid duck hunter and fisherman who supported many conservation groups. Robert is survived by his wife of 70 years Barbara Jean Rohwer of Stillwater, OK, sister Beth Denniston of Shady Side, MD, children Dr. Robert G. Rohwer of Ellicott City, MD, Heidi Hoart of Stillwater, OK, Rebecca Hunsinger of Los Alamos, NM, Dr. Richard J. Rohwer of San Diego, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
