Robert (Bob) Sylvester Burrows, 91 years young, of Stillwater, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022.
Bob was born on June 26, 1930 to Benjamin F. and Edna (Anderson) Burrows in Dodge, Oklahoma. He grew up in Kingfisher County outside of the Hennessey, Oklahoma area on the family homestead and attended Lone Star School and graduated from Hennessey High School in 1948. On November 19, 1950 he married the love of his life, Leota Fae Burrows at the Pleasant Valley Church in Garfield County. They celebrated 66 years together. Bob was passionate about his work and took pride in everything he did. He was employed by the United States Postal Services until he retired around 1992. He was particularly proud of his 50 year membership in the National Association of Letter Carriers. He was dedicated to his job and even after retirement would see local mail carriers and give them advice.
Bob is survived by two daughters, Joyce Bensch and husband Randall of Laverne OK, and Linda Williams and husband Brook Smith of Stillwater, OK; one son, Steve Burrows and wife Michelle of Stillwater, OK; five grandchildren, Cheryl Moser and husband Brian of Baxter Springs, KS, Lashell Williams of Stillwater, OK, Denise Manning and husband J.J. of Buffalo, OK, Luke Williams of Stillwater, OK, and Ethan Bilodeau of Stillwater, OK; and ten great-grandchildren, Morgan Williams, Loryn Moser, Erin Moser, Lydia Williams, Xavier Manning, Jordyn Moser, Audrey Manning, Jovie Manning, Titus Manning, and Evelyn Manning; several nieces & nephews; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Edna Burrows; his loving wife, Leota Burrows;and his sister, Esta Faye Rickman West.
Visitation will be come and go Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Dighton-Marler Funeral Home Chapel, 5106 N. Washington, Stillwater, OK 74075. A Celebration of Life will be at First Church of the Nazarene in Stillwater on March 9, 2022 at 1:30 PM with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater, OK.
