Rosie Emeline Stafford

Rosie Emeline Stafford age 97, of Stillwater, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 11, 2007 at the Stillwater Municipal Hospital.
Rosie was born on June 14, 1910 in Ripley, Oklahoma the daughter of Edward Andrew and Teresa Mary (Trentmann) Busch. She grew up in the Cushing-Ripley areas. She was united in marriage to Melvin Lester (John) Stafford on March 6, 1929 nine miles north of Stillwater where they lived until moving nine miles west of Stillwater. She moved to Stillwater in 1956 and to Ripley in 1967 where she lived until returning to Stillwater in 2000. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stillwater. Rosie enjoyed quilting and made many of them, crafts, cooking and especially enjoyed cooking meals for people. She worked hard in the fields and had also worked in the canteen at Oklahoma State University. She enjoyed people, sharring what she had, and raising canaries. She was a very good protector and loved her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Sarah Jane Barnes and late husband Gordon of Jefferson City, Missouri, Opal Horton and husband Duane, Barbara Courtright and husband Troy; both of Stillwater a son, Henry Stafford and wife Jackie of Perkins; one sister, Violet Macklin of Stillwater; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a lot of friends.
Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, Anna Coley, Vina Gazaway, a brother, Edward Lawrence Bush; Half Sisters, Alice Walck, Susie Young, Mary Melicia Kromeier; half brothers, Joseph William Busch, Michael Edward Busch, John Stanis Busch, Edward Henry Busch, Francis Leo Busch.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 14, 2007 at the Palmer-Marler-Carberry Funeral Home in Stillwater with burial in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Stillwater.
