Ruth Bootie Grant

Funeral services for Ruth "Bootie" Baumgartner Grant, age 90, of Morrison, Oklahoma are scheduled for Wednesday, September 30th at 1pm, at the Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Zachery Qualls, great-great nephew of the deceased officiating. Interment will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 29, 2009 from 7pm-8pm at the Perry Funeral Home. Ruth was born on August 13, 1919 in rural Noble County. She later married Myron W. Grant on August 21st, 1946 in Dewey, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Women"s American Legion Auxiliary and the First Christian Church of Morrison, Oklahoma. Ruth worked as a nurse"s aid and also put together airplane parts for Douglas Aircraft in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a riveter assembling fuselages for DC 3"s which transported troops and equipment to the Asian and European Theaters during WW II. She loved to travel as well as to garden, enjoying both flowers and vegetables. Ruth passed from this life on September 27, 2009 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She is survived by her husband Myron of the home, one son, Eric Grant and his wife Charlotte of Jonesboro, Arkansas, a granddaughter, Samantha Taylor, Tuckerman, Arkansas, step-grandchildren Shannon (Jessica) Roberson, Jonesboro, Arkansas, Shaun (Carey) Roberson, Bryant, Arkansas, great-grandchildren Grant Taylor and Tristian Taylor of Tuckerman, Arkansas, and step-great-grandchildren Aidan Roberson, Jonesboro, Arkansas, Coen Roberson, Bryant, Arkansas, Dylan Ferrell, and Jordan Ferrell, both of Jonesboro, Arkansas. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one brother and three sisters. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of Perry Funeral Home, 203 E. Fir, Perry, OK. 73077.
