Ruth Nadine Hume

Ruth Hume, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away on February 17, 2011. Born January 28, 1923 in Red Rock, Oklahoma to Oscar and Helen Beman. Ruth graduated from Red Rock High School in 1941. She later moved to Ponca City and attended Botts Business College. She also worked at the American Canvas Factory making various items for World War II Military. While in Ponca City she met a marine, Robert Franklin Hume. They married at the First Christian Church in Huntington Park, California on June 10, 1944. Ruth has been a lifelong member of the First Christian Church and a member of the Galilean Class as well as the Christian Women Fellowship. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hume in 1964, daughter Sidney Hume Graham; 2001, son Richard Hume; 2001, parents Oscar Beman; 1946, Helen Beman; 1958, and three brothers, Harry, Earl, and Claire. She is lovingly survived by daughter-in-law Linda Hailey Hume, son-in-law Michael Graham, son Anthony Hume and wife Pepper, grandchildren; Carissa Hume Arutunoff, Alison Hume Maxson and husband Tyler, Leslie Graham Hee and husband Michael, Deirdre and Christopher Graham, Shelly Powell Hamilton and husband Steve, Mary and Monica Powell, Robert Holdsworth and wife Arrah, Lisa Ashley and husband Tim. Great grandchildren; Alexandria Arutunoff, Taylor, Macie, and Lyndi Maxson, Payton and McKenzie Scrivner, Elliot and Henry Hamilton, Justin Holdsworth, Michael Johnson, Robert and William Holdsworth. Sister-in-law Dorothy Mahnke and husband Leroy, sister-in-law Alice Beman, niece Margaret Strudel and husband Cliff. Niece Claire Russell and husband Ron, Nephew Phil Beman and wife Sharon. Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home has been entrusted with the services which will be at the First Christian Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 10:00 am. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Helping Hand Fund at the First Christian Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma in her memory.
