Sammy Lee Dorsett

Sam Lee Dorsett, age 64 of Stillwater, passed from this life on February 6, 2014 at the Stillwater Medical Center, Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2014 from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Services will be held at a later date, due to weather. Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Sam was born on April 10, 1949 in Enid, Oklahoma to Harold and Jolene (Mowbry) Dorsett. He grew up in Enid and Liberal, Kansas. Sam graduated from Liberal High School in 1967. Following graduation, he attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University- School of Pharmacy. He moved to Tonkawa where he owned Tonkawa Drug for a number of years. Sam met and married the love of his life Carlon Miles on June 16, 1984 in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. They made their home in Stillwater. He retired from Food Pyramid Pharmacy a couple of years ago. He was an avid fisherman. Sam had quite a sense of humor, loved joking with others, and was just a people person all around.
Sam is survived by his wife Carlon of the home, daughter Amy Lantz of Florida, mother Jolene Niles and husband Tom of Enid, grandchildren Liam, Bella and Nathan Lantz. Sam was preceded in death by his father.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in Sams honor to the Stillwater Humane Society or the American Heart Association in care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater.
