Sandra Mae Howell, 75, of Stillwater passed into eternity on Saturday, February 26, 2022. Dighton-Marler Funeral Home has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
Sandra was born on July 27, 1946, in Amsbry, Pennsylvania to William Harold and Jacqueline McConnell Glass. The family later moved to Pittsburgh, PA where she was raised until adulthood.
She graduated from Shaler Area High School in Pittsburgh, PA in 1964, and from St. Margaret’s School of Nursing in Lawrenceville, PA in 1967. She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 35 years and impacted the lives of many during her career. She was the Head Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Midwest Regional Medical Center in Midwest City, OK for most of her career. She was known for her loving and compassionate spirit, quick wit, straight forward personality, and calm demeanor under pressure. She loved taking care of people and was very proud to be a nurse.
She married Walter Howell, III, on August 5, 1972 in Sapulpa, OK. They had one son, Walter Howell, IV. She is survived by her son, Walter and his wife Kimberly of Stillwater. Grandchildren, Jackson Howell and Grace Howell both of Stillwater.
Sandra married James Sines in 2015 in Jonestown, TX. She is survived by James’ children Lynda Hart and husband Lee of Santa Fe, TX, John Sines and wife Diane of Austin, TX, and Nancy Coldicott and husband Peter of Jonestown, TX, as well as several grandchildren.
Sandra is survived by her brother Terry Glass, his wife Elissa, sister Gayle Loehr, her husband Rob of Pittsburgh, PA as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and brother, Wayne Glass.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 3, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home. A Vigil will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 7:30 PM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Stillwater, OK. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, March 4, 2022, at 10:00 AM with burial at Calvary Cemetery in Shawnee, OK at 2:30 PM.
