Sharon Kaye (Cathey) Baker

Sharon Kaye Cathey Baker, 74, of Stillwater, OK, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022. A general visitation will be held Thursday, August 4th from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with a family visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Dighton Marler Funeral Home, 5106 Washington Street, Stillwater, OK. A graveside service officiated by Joe Schrader will be held 10:00 AM Friday, August 5th, 2022 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater, OK. Sharon was born April 26, 1948, in Stillwater, OK to Raymond and Gladys (Rushmore) Cathey. Growing up in Glencoe, Sharon excelled at basketball, and she later became quite a team player in her career in social services where her colleagues nicknamed her “Hippity-hop” because she was always on the go. Sharon will be remembered for her love of Jesus Christ and her devotion to singing his praises. She was very generous and hard-working, as well as a loving wife, and a beloved mother and grandmother. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hodd Baker, and her twin brother, James Cathey. She is survived by her daughter, Shannon Coke and grandson, Connor Coke, of Morrison, OK; her son, Dane Coenen and his wife, Hillary of Wichita Falls, TX; her step-daughter Kendi Wooten, and her husband, Rhett, and son, Jackson, of Carmen, OK; her brother, Rick Leith and his wife, Cindy, of Glencoe, OK; and the surviving spouse of her twin Jim, Lynne Cathey, as well as extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Perry Green Valley Nursing Home and Companion Hospice for their exemplary care of Sharon during her time of need.
