Shirley Lavon (Melton) Webb, 79, Perry, Oklahoma was born June 5, 1935 in Perry, the daughter of Mary (League) and John Melton. Her father died when she was 7 years old and she was later reared by her step-father, Ralph Wallingford. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Mother"s Day, May 10, 2015, at Green Valley Nursing Home where she had resided for the past three years. She attended Perry Public Schools and graduated from the Stillwater School of Cosmetology in 1988. She and Allen Lewis Webb were married February 22, 1951 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She lived in Perry most of her life. She was self employed as a hairdresser until the age of 75-years. She loved her customers and they loved her. Her faith was a very important part of her life. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Her greatest passion was her family and it was important to her for them to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. The rock of her family, she loved to cook and on her days off on Mondays, she had her family over for lunch. Every holiday was a big family affair and every Sunday was family dinner and the afternoons were spent playing ball, riding motorcycles and swimming. She also loved babysitting her grandchildren and later her great grandchildren, often taking them shopping. Shirley also had a great love for music. She sang, played guitar and piano, and she and her sister Doreen Snider, often entertained at Green Valley Nursing Home and the Perry Senior Citizens Center. She taught her little ones "The Ice Cream Song." She loved to go shopping on Saturdays, and have breakfast and lunch, with her sister Zelma Rupp and long time friend, Jeannette Shelley. She was predeceased by her parents; and her husband, who died January 13, 2010. Survivors include her two sisters: Doreen Snider and Zelma Rupp, both of Perry; her brother Tony Melton, Perry; three sons and two daughters: Sheryl Leigh and husband Larry, Brent Webb and wife Neadra, Brenda Vollmer and husband Randy, all of Perry; Darren Webb and wife Brandy, Ponca City; and Leslie Webb and wife Magen, Perry. Also surviving are her thirteen grandchildren, Graham Webb, Callee Webb, Spylar Webb, Jaxx Webb, Ryon Vollmer and wife, Laura, Brandon Vollmer and wife, Amanda, Angela Leigh DeRagon and husband, Darrell, Edie Leigh Crim and husband, Jeramiah, Jennifer Leigh McKee and husband, Walt, Clint Leigh and wife, Merodee, Eric Webb, Tara Webb Dodd, Jeanna Webb Browne and husband, Corey; nineteen great-grandchildren, Gauge, Emma, and Hannah Browne, Makiah and Tyler Dodd, Afton Alexander, Tucker, Sawyer, and Walker Vollmer, Callen and Carsen Vollmer, Job and Jaala McKee, Caleb, Josiah, and Gabriel Crim, Elias, Asher, and Cassia Leigh. Also numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Memorials may be made in her honor to the Perry Senior Citizens Center, in care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perry, PO Box 189, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Services are entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perry. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church in Perry with Brother Roger Dunn officiating. Interment will follow at Morrison Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 9am to 8pm at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel of Perry. Family will greet guests from 6pm to 8pm.
