Shirley Powers

Shirley Powers, age 85, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Southern Oaks Care Center in Pawnee, Oklahoma. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.

Shirley was born February 20, 1938 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Walter Ashbrook and Vernetta (Earley) Ashbrook. She lived in Bartlesville until the age of 10. Then she moved to Perry to live with her father Walter and Aley Ashbrook.

Some of Shirley’s hobbies include sewing, playing pool, and spending time with her family. Her favorite holiday was Halloween. She loved to decorate and pass out candy to all the children who would come by.

Survivors include her children, Mike Andrews, Sally Cooke of Perry, Oklahoma, Rhonda Stevens of Glencoe, Oklahoma, and Russell Andrews and wife Shelly of Stillwater, Oklahoma; brother, Walter Dean Ashbrook and wife Virginia of Claremore, Oklahoma; sister, Nellie Perkins of Yukon, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Joshua Guinn, Bryan Cooke, Blake Cooke, and Desirae Pierce; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Jade Marie, Khloy, Tyttan, Gage, Canyn, Sofee, Axl, Haydon, and Lexus; one Great-great-grandchild, Whitley Ranae. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lynda McKenzie.
