Steve G. Shipman

February 19, 1953 — February 20, 2008

Steve Glynn Shipman passed away in Oklahoma City on Wednesday February 20, 2008 after a brief illness. Born February 19, 1953 in Altus, OK to Johnny Carl and Sami Jo Shipman, Steve grew up and lived most of his life in Stillwater. Steve married his best friend, Debra K. (Bryant) in Gainesville, TX on August 13, 1984.
A 1971 graduate of C.E. Donart High School, Steve worked as an independent brick and stone mason for most of his life. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Those who know him best can attest that Steve never let a little bad weather get in the way of fishing and there is no such thing as too cold to go camping. In addition to his beloved wife, Debra, Steve leaves behind his parents, Bill and Sami Potts of Stillwater; his son, Shane Marc Fowler of Stillwater; his brother Dave Shipman and his wife, Debbie, of Perkins; his brother Mike Shipman and his wife, Teresa, of Queen Creek, AZ; and his brother Phillip Shipman and his wife, Marilyn, of Bethany, Ok. Steves nieces and nephews are Kristi Kay Curtis, C.W. Pyles, Michele Staten, Shannon Shipman, Ry Hart, Scott Shipman, Kayla Bryant, Shelby Shipman, Kyle Shipman, Tanner Hart, Steven Shipman, Shanlyn Shipman, Makayla, Hunter Staten, Kaylee Curtis, Rich Hart, and Kaya Curtis. Steve is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and extended family members as well as some wonderful friends that he considered family.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday February 25, 2008 at Palmer-Marler-Carberry Funeral Home in Stillwater with Pastor David Pollard officiating. The ole mans ashes will be scattered at his favorite fishin hole by his ole washerwoman and best buddies.
