Tamara Tammy Kay Cruzan was born on March 26th, 1947 to Benton and Marjorie Ruth (Griffith) Perry in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She attended and graduated C.E. Donart High School in Stillwater in 1965. Tammy married Stephen Cruzan on October 13th, 1974 in Tuttle, Oklahoma.
Tammy lived in Stillwater essentially her entire life. She was a full time wife, mother and grandma. She enjoyed playing games, fishing and gardening. She also loved to watch old movies and to read. She also spent time sewing and singing. Christian music was amongst her favorites. She was devoted to her family and spent a great deal of time teaching her children everything she possibly could. She loved spending time with her husband and enjoyed time with her grandchildren. She liked going to T-ball games, dance and karate events and attended every school function that her grandchildren were part of. She enjoyed the Holidays with her favorite one being Christmas. One of her favorite passages was I can do all things through Christ Jesus which strengthens me. She is remembered as being a kind woman and a best friend.
Tammy passed away on Saturday, August 26th, 2006 at Stillwater Medical Center. She was 59 years old. She is survived by her husband, Steve, of the home; 4 children, April Cruzan, Daniel Cruzan, Stephenie Harrison and husband Randy, Rachel Zachare and husband Leon; 7 grandchildren, Kolbey and Zoey Long, Caleb Sigrist, Logan Zachare, Levi Zachare, Savannah Zachare, Kaylee Zachare; 1 sister, Gayla Dollar and husband Doug; 2 brothers, Benton Perry and wife Dana, Stephen Perry; several nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
A celebration of Tammys life will be held on Tuesday August 29th, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairlawn Cemetery. Brother Jimmy Kinnaird will be officiating. Musical selections will include Amazing Grace and We Shall Behold Him. Visitation will be held at Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home on Monday August 28th from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday August 29th from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a memorial fund with Fisher Provence Realtors. Please contact Grace or Page Provence for information. The family has entrusted Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home with the arrangements.
