Thomas Daniel Parks was born on May 19th, 1927 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to George Ray and Anna Laura (Bryce) Parks. He was united in marriage on February 14th 1953 to Edwina Marie (Manry) Parks. The couple was married until her death April 28th, 1979. He also served his country in the United States Air Force during 1945-46.
The majority of his life was spent as a resident of Stillwater, Oklahoma. He owned the Latigo Hickory House Restaurant for many years. For the past 18 years, he shared the remainder of his life with Connie Hughes in Alex, Oklahoma. He was the constant anchor in his family and unconditionally loved and supported them and close friends. He also had a very tender heart for animals.
Thomas passed away on October 21st, 2006 in Lindsay, Oklahoma. He was 79 years old. He is survived by one daughter, Nancy Ellen Parks-Mleczko and husband Edward of Turner Falls, Mass.; one son, Thomas Daniel Parks, Jr. and wife Tara of Stillwater, OK.; one grandson, Thomas Daniel (Trey) Parks III of Stillwater, OK; one sister, Florine Hardy of Ponca City, OK.; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
Services for Thomas Parks will be held on Wednesday, October 25th, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairlawn Cemetery. G.T. Moody will be officiating. Visitation will be held Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home. The family has entrusted Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home with the arrangements.
