Thomas Herman Kerntke

November 1, 1944 — October 9, 2021

The Lord has called him home. Thomas Herman Kerntke gained his angel wings October 9, 2021.
Thomas was born November 1, 1944, in Modesto, California to John S. Kerntke and Alice M. (Pierce) Kerntke. Thomas grew up in Agra, Oklahoma where he helped his dad on the farm. At 20 years old, Thomas joined the United States Navy and served 4 years. After completing his service, Thomas came back to the farm and met the love of his life Marilyn L. (Howard) Kerntke. They married January 3, 1970.
Thomas’s love, enjoyment and devotion was his family! He was truly a happy man when his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren were with him. He would always say there is nothing better than a child’s smile. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and hunting. He enjoyed reading Louis Lamar westerns and enjoyed all western movies especially John Wayne. Thomas worked in the carpentry area and oil field, and cooking for OSU residential life was his true passion.
Thomas is preceded in death by his son Thomas Wayne Kerntke and his wife Marilyn L. (Howard) Kerntke.
Thomas is survived by his 3 daughters: Mary Alice (Kerntke)Cox, Teresa Ann (Kerntke) Schemm and Tammie Lynn (Kerntke) Gualco all of Stillwater, OK. Thomas has 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
