Tom Arthur, 78 of Stillwater, Oklahoma passed from the dust of this earth to the glory of heaven on July 12, 2013 at his farm SE of Stillwater. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home and will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday July 16, 2013 at Mehan Union Church, 8300 E 68th St in Stillwater, OK with interment following at Perkins Cemetery in Perkins, OK.
Tom was born April 22, 1935 to the late Rhyner and Martha (Allison) Arthur, in Perkins, OK. He was raised in and around the Perkins area where he also attended and graduated high school.
Tom married Dorothy June Brown on July 4, 1955 in Cushing, OK. They recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. To this union four children were born Diann, Gayle, Rhyner, and Toma Lynn.
Tom worked in the oil field early in his career, then spent over 45 years building 130 custom homes in the Payne County area for many who also became long-time friends. He was also an avid farmer and gardener raising vegetables, wheat, alfalfa and Brangus cattle on his farm. Tom was an active member of the Mehan Union Church.
Tom is survived by his wife, Dorothy whom he loved very much and by his legacy: his children, Diann & Max Rudd, Gayle & Jay Davis, Rhyner & Jerri Arthur, and Toma Lynn & Ron Garst; grandchildren: Phillip & Tiffany Davis, Rebekah & Toby Tiner, Stephanie & Josh Leach, Benton & Jennifer Rudd, Allison & Kyle Dollins, Rachel & Kyle McGee, Sarah & Shane Dean, Jamison Rudd, Caleb Arthur, David Garst, and Emily Garst; and great grandchildren: Seth, Savannah, and Esther Davis; JT, Audrey, Titus, and Samantha Tiner; Rhylan and Raygan Leach, and Tatum Dean.
