Tom (Bhop) Graves, 75, of Morrison passed from this life on Monday, May 9, 2011 at his home. Services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home and will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel with B. Gordon Edwards presiding. Burial will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry. Family will greet friends for visitation at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Tom was born on October 23, 1935 in Sentinel, Oklahoma to Herman Graves and Elaine (Merritt) Graves. On September 5, 1955 he married the love of his life Virginia Mae (Dormire) Graves, a union that lasted 55 years. He attended the Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Oklahoma State University Posse. He also had membership in the National Rifle Association, Toastmasters Club, and Phi Kappa Tau. He had served as Captain of the OSU Rifle Team. Tom is survived by his wife Virginia of the home; son, David Graves and wife Debbie of Morrison; daughter Michele Graves of Roanoke, TX; brother Merritt Graves and wife Barbara of Mt. Juliet, TN; sister Kathleen Graves of Morrison; three grandchildren, Jesse J. Graves, Brad David Graves and wife Kira, and Jill Karen Graves; step grandchildren Joel McNabb, Jennifer McNabb, and James C. McNabb, nieces Missy Elrod and husband Darren, and Merri Kay Graves as well as many other relatives and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Elaine Graves. Memorial Contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Oklahoma Medical Research Association, the American Diabetes Associaiton, or the American Heart Association in care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home.
