Tom E. Dawes

September 11, 1956 — September 21, 2022

Tom E. Dawes received his ultimate healing and went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at his home in Stillwater. Cremation services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.

Tom was born September 11, 1956, in Powell, Wyoming to Ralph and Mary (Ramsey) Dawes. He grew up in Stillwater with his parents, Mary and stepdad, T.K. Raper. He graduated Stillwater High School in 1975. He married his high school sweetheart, Anita Jo Furman on August 30, 1975.

Tom was an enthusiastic hunter and fisherman and passed that love on to his two sons Trent and Travis. Known for his witty sense of humor, Tom always enjoyed pulling practical jokes on his friends. You could always find Tom with his boys and grandkids at the lake or at home with Anita. Tom and Anita were both longtime members of Calvary Assembly of God church.

A Celebration of Tom’s life will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022, at 11AM at Calvary Assembly of God church in Stillwater with pastors, Rusty Rhoads and Stan Formby officiating. Pallbearers will be Trace Dawes, Logan Driggs, Tucker Dawes, Tanner Dawes, Dylan Reece, and Mackenzie Payne.

Survivors include his wife, Anita of the home; two sons, Trent Dawes and wife Amanda of Perkins, and Travis Dawes and wife Olivia of Stillwater; grandchildren, Stephanie Reece and husband Dylan, Makayla Dawes, Melanie Edge, Trace Dawes, Tanner Dawes, Audrey Dawes, Cheyenne Payne and husband Mackenzie Payne, Logan Driggs, Tucker Dawes, and Lacey Dawes; great-grandchildren, Robert Hedrick, Tinley Payne, and Cohen Payne; sister, Debbie Mangum and husband Rick Mangum of Hodgens; nephew, Mark Prather and Trevor Prather; niece, Kim Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents.
