Tony J. Romero

Antonio “Tony” Romero, 71, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 11:00am at Southwest Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 10:00am at the Otoe Baptist Church in Red Rock, Oklahoma. Prayer service at Otoe Baptist Church on Friday and Saturday at 7:00pm. Interment will be at Red Rock Cemetery.

Tony Romero was born on June 18, 1946 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Maurilio “Frank” and Effie Merle (Carson) Romero. He was a simple kind man. He enjoyed playing Dominoes and cards. He was always telling jokes and making people happy. Tony was a hard worker and worked constantly. Tony retired from Jimmy’s Roundup Café. If he was not working he was enjoying spending time with his family. Tony was saved on November 4, 2008 and baptized on November 5, 2008 at the Southwest Baptist Church. He was a member of the Otoe-Missouria Tribe, Beaver Clan.

Tony is survived by one brother, Edward Carillo; one sister, Cynthia Romero Barnes; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Romero of 32 years on January 11, 2018; parents; three brothers, Maurilio “Sammy” Romero, Juan Romero, Jesus Romero; three sisters, Flora Cline, Mildred Baine, and Francine Romero Davis.
