Velma Jean Collier

Velma Jean Snyder Collier, 84 died at her home in Frisco, Texas on Wednesday, December 28 , 2011. She was born on June 5, 1927 in Billings, Oklahoma and lived in Oklahoma and Texas before settling in Frisco, Texas. Velma was the manager of the Perry Chamber of Commerce from July 1, 1990 until 1993. After moving back to Texas she retired. She is survived by her husband Stewart (Shorty) Collier of thirty-eight years; her three daughters, Janet Parker, Debbie Porr and Lisa Malone of Frisco, Texas; one step-daughter, Anna Jean; two sisters, Dorothy Johnson Dowell and Virginia Richardson of Perry, OK; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren all in Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Amy Snyder and three brothers, Raymond, Lawrence (Pud) and Robert Snyder. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Perry Funeral Home, 203 E. Fir St., Perry, Oklahoma. The Reverend Paul Krueger (Nephew) will be officiating. Final resting place will be in the McGuire Cemetery, Noble County, Oklahoma. Friends may leave condolences for the family by using the online guestbook at www.perrycares.com .
