Vera Lee Monday

Vera Lee Monday, 88, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at her home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Graveside service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 12:00pm at Mountain View Cemetery in Hackett, Arkansas. Dighton Marler Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Vera Lee was born on September 27, 1935, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to M.D. and Grace (Horton) Williams. She grew up in Fort Smith and went to Fort Smith Schools. She married Thomas Larry Monday on November 8, 1968, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

She had a passion for many things, such as singing, oil painting, and horses to name a few. She was a devout Christian and loving wife, supportive mother, and proud grandmother (Mammaw).

Vera is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Jack Faubus, Fern Roller, and Betty Brown, all of Arkansas.

She is survived by her husband Thomas Larry Monday of Stillwater, her daughter Tommie Lee Lester and husband JJ of Stillwater and son Lance Monday, her grandchildren, Halle Jae Lester and fiancé Dane Matthews and Jevyn Lester, her sister Pat Fisher of Van Buren, Arkansas, as well as several nieces and great nieces & nephews'.
