Victoria Vicki Lamb was born on Nov 26, 1928 in Clinton, OK to Elza E. and Mae M. (Holliday) Lamb. The daughter of an U.S. Indian Agent, Vicki was raised in OK, KS, and AR before moving to Stillwater to finish her schooling. She graduated from Stillwater High School in 1946 and shortly thereafter she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Chuck Ketch. She attended Oklahoma A&M to pursue a degree in fashion merchandising. After several years of college, Vicki became the bookkeeper for Ingham Lumber in Stillwater.
In 1955, Vicki and Chuck opened Chucks Paint and Paper in Stillwater. Over the next 55 years Vicki dedicated her time and talent to teaching many citizens of Payne County how to make beautiful stained glass and other craft projects. She traveled all over OK teaching seminars and sharing her unique craft designs. She was also a very gifted painter who enjoyed doing historical restoration of oil paintings. Family was her top priority and in 2009 Vicki shifted her focus from the store to caring for her husband. Several of Vickis stained glass works can still be seen today at Solid Rock Church and at Countryside Church.
Vickis faith was an important cornerstone in her life. When she wasnt working at the store or on a project, she could often be found studying her Bible. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stillwater and was blessed to be a founding member of two wonderful churches in Stillwater: Hillcrest Baptist Church and Countryside Baptist Church.
Vicki was a classy and independent woman who enjoyed gardening, sewing, doing needle-work, collecting Fitz and Floyd and Mickey Mouse collectables. She loved interacting with her customers and she never met a stranger. Nothing made her happier than spending quality time with her grandchildren.
Vicki Ketch was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, a grandson, a sister-in-law, and two siblings. She is survived by her best friend and soul mate of nearly 70 years, Chuck Ketch. Three wonderful children: A.J. Ketch and wife Sandy, of Stillwater, OK. Larry Ketch of Austin, TX. And Sandy M. Everett and husband Tom, of Stillwater. Vicki is also survived by her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, both natural and adopted. She is also survives by several nieces, nephews, and other family members, as well as a host of special friends.
