Vivian Nadine Rieman, 86, of Perry passed from peacefully from this life on July 26, 2013 with her family by her side. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perry and a funeral service celebrating her life will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Perry, Oklahoma, Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 10:00 am. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30 from 8am to 8pm and the family will greet friends from 6pm-8pm at the funeral home.
Vivian was born on October 1, 1926 in Cushing, OK to Herbert Stanton White and Hazel McDaniel White. She attended grade school at Windy Center before graduating from Sumner High School. Just a few days after her 21st birthday, she married the love of her life, Henry Hinie Rieman at the Zion Lutheran Church in Sumner. Vivian spent her life as a housewife and mother. She assisted Hinie with various farming activities, but her top priority was raising her children and twin granddaughters.
Vivian was an active lifetime member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Perry. She understood the value of hard work and she spent countless hours baking pies, cookies, and cakes for church, school, and community activities. She worked tirelessly on organizing the Sumner school reunions and she was a long time member of the Sumner Fire Dept Auxiliary. Vivian Rieman was a kind and generous woman who possessed a quiet strength. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a caring grandmother, and a trusted friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Phillip Rieman and wife, Julia of Enid, OK, Judith Schroeder and husband, Mike of Stillwater, OK, Sharleen Hamilton and husband, Dick of Cedaredge, CO; sister, Juanita Gerken of Perry, OK; brother, Bill Rieman and wife, Imogene of Perry, OK; four sisters, Phyllis White, Pat Noland, and Florence Akin of Stillwater, OK , Frances White of Tulsa, OK; sister-in-law, Nettie Rieman of Perry, OK; four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hinie Rieman; her parents; sister, Vera Sooter; and a brother, John White.
