William Bill Casimir Balcer, 59, passed from this life on Thursday, January 01, 2015 at his home in Perkins. Bill was born in Ponca City, OK on February 14, 1955, to John Joseph and Beverly Louise (Herber) Balcer.
He was raised and attended school in Marland, and graduated from Marland High School in 1973. After graduation, he attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa. When Bill was younger, he worked for Marland Hardware. As an adult, he worked at Mercury Marine in Stillwater for nearly 30 years.
Bill loved to be involved in his community. He was a member of the Town and Gown Community Theatre in Stillwater and Friends of the Library for over 25 years. Bill also served as President of the 101 Ranch Old Timers Association in Ponca City. In his spare time, Bill loved collecting antiques, reading history books, and studying genealogy.
Bill is preceded in death by his sister, Constance May Balcer; his father, John Balcer, Sr.; and his step-father, Norman Tubbs.
Bill is survived by his mother, Beverly Tubbs of the home; his brother, John Balcer Jr. and his wife Martha of Ripley. He is also survived by his nephew, John Balcer III and his wife Jayna of Katy, TX, and their four children: Travis, Brayden, Abigail, and Jackson; nephew James Balcer of Stillwater; and niece Sarah Silvers and her husband Colt of Perkins.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2015, at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Perkins, located at 304 North Main, Perkins, OK. Public visitation will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 1pm to 5 pm at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Perkins. Following Bills request, cremation will take place.
