William Penn Craig, born on December 18, 1944, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away on February 13, 2025, at the Veteran Center in Claremore, Oklahoma. He is remembered as a loving, kind, and generous individual, known for his wonderful sense of humor.
William had a fulfilling career, retiring after 26 years as a machinist with Ditch Witch, where he made lasting contributions to the company. His educational journey began at Billings High School, where he laid the foundation for a life of determination and hard work. In addition to his professional achievements, William served honorably in the United States Air Force, an experience that shaped his character and values.
On December 17, 2011, William married the love of his life, Jennifer (Bledsoe) Dunaway, in a ceremony held in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Together, they shared joyous moments and built cherished memories.
An avid sports enthusiast, William enjoyed a variety of athletic activities, with a particular fondness for OSU wrestling. His passion for sports often sparked lively conversations, filled with laughter and camaraderie among friends and family.
William is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer; his brother, Cecil Craig (Nellie) of McAlester, Oklahoma; nephews, Wade Craig (Laura) of Colorado and Chad Craig of Tulsa, Oklahoma; as well as great-nephews, William Craig and Cody Craig, and great-niece, Miranda Craig and Alison Jenkins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Alice (Babcock) Craig, and his brother, John Craig. William's legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Bill at noon on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at George's Stables in Stillwater.
