William Eugene Geer

William Bill Eugene Geer, age 67, of Stillwater, OK passed away on Tuesday, December 09, 2008 at his home. Funeral services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater, and will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, December 11, 2008 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Jerry Dale officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Bill was born on March 15, 1941 in Stillwater to Lloyd and Louella (Martin) Geer. He grew up in Ingalls and attended schools in Perkins, graduating from Perkins High School in 1959. He joined the Air Force and was on active duty for two years and spent two more years in the reserves. He was stationed at Minot, ND where he served as an MP. He married Sharon Flora on January 19, 1973 in Stillwater, OK. Bill worked at Oklahoma State University for 13 years and also as Counter Sales Manager for Bradley Plumbing for 20 years. He was actively involved in coaching and playing softball. He was an avid OSU fan and enjoyed bowling, fishing, and playing horseshoes. But mostly, he loved spending time with his family especially his children and grandchildren. He never met a stranger and easily made friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, George Geer; and one sister, Inetta Clary.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sharon of Stillwater; six children, Connie Murphy of Lindsay, OK, Mary Hollander and husband Richard of Walters, OK, Robert Geer and wife Jessica, Chris Geer and wife Nancy, Shelly Bowling and husband, Damen all of Stillwater, OK and Leonard Geer and wife Susan of Keota, OK; one sister, Glenna VanBuskirk of Stillwater, OK; 14 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and numerous extended family and friends.
