William J. "Bill" Machart, longtime resident of Morrison, OK, passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was 86. Arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater, OK. Funeral services are scheduled for 3PM Monday, April 24, 2017 in the Chapel at Palmer Marler Funeral Home. Jim Branscum will officiate. Interment will follow at Morrison Cemetery.
Bill was born September 24, 1930 in Shiner, TX, to Stanislav and Emma "Meyer" Machart. He grew up in the Halletsville, TX area where he attended and graduated from Halletsville Public Schools in 1948. In 1950 he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country for four years. He was honorably discharged on April 9, 1954 as a Quartermaster 2nd Class. On March 24, 1956 he married Patricia Lee Giles in Denton, TX. They were blessed to have enjoyed 61 years together.
Survivors include his wife Patricia of 61 years; three sons, Stanley John Machart of Perry, OK, William Joseph "Joe" Machart, Jr. and wife Laura of Oshkosh, WI, and Donald Wayne Machart and wife Sherrie of Stillwater, OK; two daughters, Vivian Marie Heyl of Stillwater, OK, and Teresa Lee Van de Putte and husband Rudi of Purmerend, Netherlands; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Machart, Tyler Holzer and wife Chelsea, William "Trey" Machart, III, Mikel Heyl, Madison Machart, and Rachel Machart; four great-grandchildren, Lydia, Mallory, Logan, and Henry Holzer; one sister, Delores Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanislav and Emma; step-father, "Papa" John Harrison; three sisters, Lorene Krametbauer, Helen Price, Mary Ann Jodzko; and one brother, Paul Machart.
