Graveside services for Willie Emma Wyse, 96, of Stillwater are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow with Reverend Allen D. Hicks officiating. Services are under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater.
Willie was born on April 14, 1913 in Cottonwood, OK to John and Anna (Yalch) Tadrick. She grew up and attended schools up until the 8th grade in Cottonwood. She married Elmer Wisdom in 1931. To this union one son, Billie Joe Wisdom was born. The two later divorced. She married John Odell Linton in 1941. To this union one son, John Odell Linton was born. John was killed in WWII. She married Leonard Wyse in 1948. To this union, three daughters Sue, Patsy, and Lennie were born. Leonard preceded her in death on March 11, 1974. Willie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coalgate, OK. She spent many years attending the Life Adult Day Care Program at First Christian Church in Stillwater, which allowed her to remain with family. Her hobbies were playing dominoes and cards (she was very competitive until the day she died), gardening, working outside, cooking, and canning. Willie passed away on Friday, October 23, 2009 in Tulsa, OK.
In addition to her husbands, Willie was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and sisters; one son, Billie Joe Wisdom (former KS state senator and retired state representative); and one granddaughter, Elizabeth.
She is survived by one son, Dr. John Odell Linton and wife, Donna of Claremore, OK; three daughters, Sue and Calvin Farmer of Stillwater, Patsy Wyse of Stillwater, and Lennie and Dr. Robert Weinberger of Houston, TX; one daughter in law, Joann Wisdom of Kansas City, KS; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
Memorial donations may be made in Willies name to the Life Adult Day Care Center 411 W. Matthews Stillwater, OK 74075.
