Wylee Buckle Craig, age 20, entered this world during an ice storm on January 28, 2002 at Stillwater Medical Center to parents, Jill Rieman Craig and Brad Craig. Wylee was a member of Zion Lutheran church of Perry, OK, where he was baptized and attended all his life. Wylee attended Pawnee Public Schools, Morrison Public Schools, and Meridian Technical School. He graduated from Pawnee in 2020 with a high school diploma and certification in Metal Fabrication. He currently works for JP Welding and Metal Fabrication. Wylee excelled in athletics. No matter what the sport and he loved to “run like the wind”. His favorite was football. He never said an unkind word about any of his friends or teammates and respected his coaches. His greatest gifts were his smile which he gave freely to all, and his impressive work ethic.
Wylee also had a “green thumb”, inherited from his Great Great Grandmother, Eva Rae LeGrand. He loved to garden and work in the dirt with his hands. He grew the sweetest corn in the state. His other passions included duck hunting, deer hunting, wild hog hunting, coyote hunting and having fun with his buddies and starting to farm. He had to start small but in a big way. With the guidance and knowledge of many Sumner farmers and Larry Garvie, a close neighbor and his papa, Tom as mentors. The lord blessed Wylee in many ways. Wylee lived more in 20 years than most of us do in a lifetime. He was truly an old soul.
